I just wanted to show a quick run through of how I do my eyebrows. I’ve gotten some questions about brows lately, so I thought a master post would be helpful.

I have pretty thick eyebrows that I pluck and wax every few days to keep them in check. If you DON’T have thick eyebrows, I would not recommend over drawing them, it makes them look cartoonish. You’d have better luck using a method like this, to thicken and highlight what you already have instead of trying to create a new look.

I used UD naked pallet color Buck, Lancome brow pencil in Mahogany, Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow set, Bare Minerals Stroke of Light, and two angled brushes- one thicker for the area around my brows and a smaller one to apply powder. All of these products I would highly recommend with the addition of the Clinique dual ended brow pencil (which has a highlighter as well as brow fill) and Maybelline great lash clear- which works as a great brow set.

For a description of the steps, click on the pictures.

sorry about the photo quality i rushed to get these out and used my ipod touch

I used the set photos of Scarlett in character as well as the Empire Magazine cover as references.

  1. Apply the foundation and concealer of your choice. If you use powder to set it, do that as well. (not shown)
  2. Prime eye with base. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in the Original colorless formulation.
  3. Apply shimmery taupe shadow over your lids. I used Lancome’s Click.
  4. Blend a deep shimmery grey or light black into the crease. I used Urban Decay’s Gunmental (from the Naked pallet) for the right color.
  5. Add black into the out most corner of your eye. Blend it into your crease, making sure there is no harsh line from where the colors meet. I used UD’s Creep (also from the naked pallet).
  6. Lightly blend out the color in your crease with the same taupe you used on the lid. Don’t blend up too far, and concentrate the majority on the outer part of your eye.
  7. Roughly line your upper lash line with whatever black kohl pencil you have (not gel or liquid), it doesn’t have to be perfect. I used UD 24/7 glide on pencil in Zero. Apply a pretty thick line from the very inner corner of your eye to the end. Do NOT extend into a wing
  8. Do the same with the lower lash line and the water line. Connect the lines in the inner corner of your eye.
  9. Smudge both lines with a black shadow, preferably the same you used on your outer corner, make them slightly messy and not as harsh looking. Pay particular attention to your lower lash line in this step, make sure it is a fairly thick smudge, but not cartoonish-ly so.
  10. (This step is optional) Fill in your brows. I used my regular mixture of light brown brow shadow and brick red blush to fill them. I used more red than usual to match mine a bit closer to Scarlett/Natasha’s.
  11. (The step is optional) Prime your lashes with a mascara base. (I used Clinique’s) Then apply your mascara. Skipping the primer and applying falsies will give the same effect.
  12. For mascara I used Maybelline’s XXL volume express. Then apply mascara to your lower lashes. I used Clinique’s bottom lash mascara
  13. Add bronzer to the area just under your cheekbones to contour your cheeks. (if you can’t find that area purse your lips outward, the lines from your cheekbones should make the area visable) Make sure to blend the area thoroughly to avoid streaky lines. I used the Nars Laguna bronzer from the Laguna/Orgasm duo.
  14. Lightly dust blush onto the apples of your cheeks. If you have already pigmented cheeks, you can skip this step as not much color is used besides the bronzer. I used Nars Orgasm, also from the duo.
  15. (This step is optional) If you have thinner lips, use a plumper. I used DuWop’s lip venom in the original formula.
  16. The color of her lips varies from shot to shot, so I used a combination of the two I saw in the pictures. I used Jemma Kidd’s makeup school lipstick in 02 English Rose first, then added Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth in Blushious over top.

And there you have it! I think it turned out really nicely and I actually learned a lot about Natasha as a character when I was researching the look. Which I will be elaborating on in another post.

If you want me to film an actual tutorial, then I will. (Honestly I might do it anyway. This is just really fun for me.)

Bringing this back for halloween!
